As part of our work to reduce food poverty and food waste, we’re launching 2 new pilot projects about the power of food and community across Adur and Worthing.

We’d love you to join us!

Do you love to cook?
Want to be a part of supporting your local community?
Free on a Thursday?

If that’s a yes then BATCH is for you. We’re asking volunteers to batch cook 25 nutritious meal portions, at home, for delivery to our neighbours, who may be vulnerable, socially isolated, struggling to make ends meet and with no questions asked. Recipe ideas will be suggested but you will have the freedom to create your own dish in a ready, steady cook styley. Once we can all meet together (we’re really missing seeing everyone), we’re looking forward to getting together in a community kitchen and cooking up a storm together.

We are also looking for volunteers for COOK & SHARE, our new buddying scheme. Would you be up for regularly delivering an additional portion of food to a local neighbour? This volunteering option requires a minimum 6 month commitment of doorstep food delivery weekly or fortnightly as well as “having a chat” and getting to know your neighbour.

If you would like to get involved or hear more about our volunteering opportunities please get in touch with amy@foodpioneers.org.uk. We can’t wait to hear from you.
